Using basic diff command:

$ diff first_filename second_filename

if there is no output, it means those files are identical. Otherwise you will see difference output.

Another method is visual diff. First you should install it.

Code: Select all

#apt-get install vbindiff


and then:

Code: Select all

vbindiff first_filename second_filename

Using Bless to view binary files:
You can install it from packages (apt-get) and to open a binary file using bless:

$ bless filename
